Genesis 1 bible study8/31/2023 Tagged With: Creation, Creator, Entropy, Genesis 1:1-5, Redemption, Time He is the creator, the sustainer and the redeemer. This is His memorial name to all generations. For this we credit the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. This fact makes it impossible to determine the duration of the events recorded in this section of the Bible.Īgain, I would like to emphasize that duration of the creation event is much less important than the question of “who is the Creator”. In other words there is an undetermined period of time between the creation of man and his fall. As we read the story we may imagine that the duration could be seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, etc. The duration of the period between his creation and the “fall” is not revealed. Man was originally created and placed in “the Garden of Eden” in what we might call a state of “innocence”. There is one other clue that indicates that we do not have sufficient information to determine the duration from the creation event until the present. Therefore, we conclude that the duration of the creation event and thus the age of the creation has not been revealed. If the seventh day is longer than 24 hours then the other creation days may also be longer than 24 hours. More specifically, the “seventh day” is longer than 24 hours. The implication of this is that the “seventh day” spans a duration of at least many thousands of years. This means that God has been resting from creating activities since the initial creation events. The fundamental laws of Physics declare that the quantity of matter and energy in the universe is constant, i.e., nothing is being created at this point of history. It means “bringing something into existence where nothing existed before”. The activity of creating is something that only God can do. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” (Genesis 2:2-3) “By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. I believe our best insight comes from the account of the seventh day. It seems to me that the more important question behind these two positions is “who is responsible for the creation instead of how long did it take?”īut returning to the question at hand, what was the duration of the creation event. Again, those who support a strict creationist position argue that the entire process required only 7 days (or 168 hours). This position facilitates the position of natural evolution. Scientists argue that the duration between the creation events is a very long time, perhaps billions of years. Firstly, we have the general account of the creation (Genesis 1:1-2:3) and, secondly, the more detailed account of man’s creation (Genesis 2:4-2:25). The creation story is told twice in this Biblical section. Therefore, true measure of time is the duration between these two end-points. The creation is moving from order to disorder from a state where energy transfer is possible to a state of uniform temperature where no energy transfer is possible. Science argues that the true measure of duration is entropy. “But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.” (2 Peter 3:8) Entropy: Time as Disorder God’s view of time is different from ours. “As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, or if due to strength, eighty years.” (Psalm 90:10) Actually we are attempting to measure duration between events. We measure it in terms of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years, decades, etc. I maintain that God, who is the agency of creation, operates outside of time and that attempting to assign a specific duration to His activities is generally fruitless. In both cases, we are speculating about the quantity of time taken in these activities. Strict Bible creationists believe that the creation event took 7 twenty-four hour days (168 hours) and hence the creation is only a few thousand years old. Science estimates that this period is something of the order of 18 billion years (18,000,000,000 years). Actually, the real question should focus on the time utilized in the creation process up to the time of the fall. One of the questions that arises from this section of the Bible is the amount of time utilized in the creation process.

Corel aftershot look up table8/31/2023 Tilt recognition lets you create different types of strokes based on the angle at which you hold the pen, offering a bit more creative control over your lines. Multitouch lets you use your fingers on the tablet as you would a touchpad-for example, pinching to zoom or rotating artwork or 3D models. Multitouch and tilt recognition: Two other features, multitouch and tilt recognition, distinguish tablets aimed at beginners from those for professionals.Cartoonist Dami Lee told us that she mainly uses Clip Studio Pro, a free trial of which comes with both of our picks. We were unable to download Painter Essentials because of compatibility issues with the version of our laptop’s operating system-Corel later clarified that the software requires macOS Catalina 10.15 or newer. The Wacom tablets we tested come with a trial of Corel Painter Essentials, and some of our sources have used Corel Painter for years. The more expensive tablets feature more well-known names, such as Adobe, while the more affordable options come with less familiar and harder-to-use software. Complimentary software: Some tablets come with software trials.More customizability means you can fine-tune your workflow, but having easy-to-use software is more important than having 20 customizable buttons. Some tablets let you map the pen buttons to only a few set actions, while others offer over a dozen to choose from. Tablet buttons and customizability: Most drawing tablets let you map keyboard shortcuts and other actions to buttons on the pen and tablet, but beginners probably won’t need more than a handful to cover the most-used actions.Battery-free pens are convenient and cost-effective over the long run. Pen type: All of the pens we tested are battery-free, which means you never need to charge the pen or swap out its batteries. After talking to our sources, we think the smaller drawing tablets offer the best quality for the price, especially for beginners. Medium (8-by-5-inch) and large (10-by-6-inch) drawing tablets are about as wide as a keyboard without a number pad, so they’re better suited for dedicated graphics work. Small graphics tablets, such as the One by Wacom, are about the size of a mouse pad (with an active area around 6 by 4 inches) and highly portable. This can mean less arm fatigue, but when you’re working on large (or multiple) displays, you may need to zoom in to work with fine details or map the active area to a portion of the screen. Tablet size: The smaller the active area, the less your hand must move to manipulate the cursor on the screen. As Victoria Ying advised, “ 100 dollars is reasonable you can upgrade as you move forward with your artwork.” We focused on the sub-$100 range because extras such as multitouch and pen tilt recognition don’t make a huge difference in what you can create with a drawing tablet. Price: Graphics tablets aimed at beginners cost less than $100, while bigger, professional-level tablets with more advanced features can cost three to five times that amount. The best tablets work instantly, without any downloads or security hang-ups. In our experience, some of our options and their accompanying software took hours to start operating-we’re here to save you the headache. Drawing tablets in general are glitchy and hard to set up. “It’s super-important.” The driver affects how well the drawing tablet works with your computer, which software the tablet will work with, and the presence and severity of input lag. Compatibility and stability: Although “no one will explicitly ask about the quality of the driver software, they should,” Jim Mortensen said. However, many of our long-term Wirecutter testers have used their tablets for years, and they say an extra $20 was worth paying for double the pressure sensitivity over the course of their artistic development. We found that a minimum of 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity (pressure sensitivities scale upward in intervals of 512) is plenty. The higher the pressure sensitivity, the better you can control the line weight (how thick and opaque the lines are, based on how hard you press down on the tablet with the pen). Pressure sensitivity: Many of our experts agreed that the most important feature of a drawing tablet is its pressure sensitivity.

Steam power industrial revolution8/31/2023 The Industrial Revolution occurred around 1750, and mass production was a big part of it. Still, we owe a lot to Hero – his groundbreaking ideas came to shape the world thousands of years after his death. The power Hero discovered wasn’t actually put to productive use until the 17th century with the development of the first steam engines. But using water as a source of energy was limiting since it meant factories had to be located near a body of water. The introduction of steam power was significant because, before its discovery, humans had to rely on animals, water, and their own strength. Hero was known for describing the design of this engine, known as the aeolipile, which used steam to heat the turbine, causing it to spin. Hero of Alexandria, also called Hero, was a mathematician and inventor who created the first steam turbine in the 1st century CE. The Hero of steamĮven though the first working steam engine wasn’t invented until the time of the Industrial Revolution, it was the technology developed in Ancient Greece that fueled the revolution. One of the negative effects of this was that fewer workers were needed, but there was more room for innovation and new ideas. Merchants were replaced by industrialists during the revolution and items that were previously made by hand were now made by machines. These ideas hugely influenced the emergence of industrial capitalism in Britain and many other countries. In the mid-18th century, Adam Smith led a group of economists who challenged the ideas of mercantilism. Despite some of the more negative aspects of the Industrial Revolution, it marked the birth of our economy as we know it, and without it, much of what we now think of as entrepreneurship would never have existed. With this revolution came the idea of mass production, which changed the game for entrepreneurs. This era first began with the invention of the steam engine. The Industrial Revolution was a time of great change for all of the world, not just for entrepreneurs.

If you have iCloud Photo Library and want to back up all your photos to a storage device attached to your Mac you can follow the guide above, but you will need to add the step of downloading the images from iCloud. Finally, to free up the space on your internal hard drive, open the Trash from the Dock or Finder window and click Empty. Remember you will need to plug in your drive (or connect to it via WiFi in order to see your photos there). Right click or Ctrl+click on the iPhoto file and move it to the Trash. Your computer will automatically recognize both devices. If they use FireWire cables, connect them to the FireWire port. If your hard drives use USB cables, connect them to the USB port. Attach your external drive to your Mac, and make sure it is showing up in. We'll be moving this library directly to an external drive, before telling the Photos app to load the library from the external drive by default. Make sure all the photos are there, and that everything is working before deleting the Photo library on your Mac. Step 1 Connect both portable hard drives to your computer using the supplied USB or FireWire cable and turn them on. By default, the Photos library is present in the Pictures folder in your macOS Home folder. Now go to System Preferences > iCloud > Photos > Options, and Select iCloud Photo Library to turn that back on.Now that Photos is open, click on Preferences > General and choose Use as System Photo Library (you have to do this in order to get it to work with iCloud Photo Library if you use it).If you see a message that there are items that need to be downloaded from iCloud Photo Library you should click on Delete Incomplete Items – you will be able to download them from iCloud later.Click Other Library and navigate to the new location on the external drive. Click your selected folder or photos and, still holding your mouse, drag them to the Finder window with your USB flash drive.Once the library has copied over, hold down the Option/Alt key and launch Photos.Wait while it copies over – this may take a while depending on the size of your library and the speed of the connection to the drive.Copy the Photos Library to the external drive. If you right click on the Photos Library package you can choose Get Info to see just how large the library is – you will want to ensure that the drive you are planning to copy it too is large enough to accommodate it, and any additional photos you add at a later date.(You may want to do this if you were copying images to a PC since the PC may not be able to view the contents of the Photos Library). This will show you the master folders containing your photos. (If you wanted to view the contents of this library without using Photo, you could right-click/control-click on it and choose Show Package Contents from the options.Inside this folder you will see the Photos Library, identifier by an icon like the one below.Open a Finder window and click on your Mac Home folder (the icon looks like a house and it will probably be identified by your username). Locate the Photos library on your Mac – you will find it in your Pictures folder. If the disk needs to be reformatted, you will need to Erase the disk, so make sure you copy anything from the disk first, then click on Erase and choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled). If you need to reformat the disk, follow the steps in this tutorial: Open Disk Utility and check what format is being used. Note: At the time of writing, iCloud download limit stands at 999 photos at a time. Before you start, you need to make sure the external drive you are using is formatted for Mac OS Extended (Journaled). On the next window, select your External Hard Drive in left-pane and click on the Download button in right-pane.Īll the selected Photos will be downloaded to the External Hard Drive in a Zip file format. Note: If Command+A is not working, make sure iCloud Photos is enabled on your iPhone.ĥ. In iCloud Photos, switch to Photos Tab > press Command+ A to select all Photos and click on the Download Icon. After you are signed-in, click on the Photos Icon.ģ. Using Mac or PC go to and login to your iCloud Account.Ģ.
